LP12 Conundrum

dimanche 6 mars 2016

Having recently purchased a Garrard 401, which I intend to match with a Loricraft plinth/Aro/XX2MKII/Prefix, I now have to lose one turntable, most likely one of my LP12’s. I was thinking of keeping one, but I have to make up my mind which spec; possibly a mix and match between the two:

LP12 #1:
Afromasia fluted, non-corner braced plinth
Sole Sub Chassis (not the latest).
Pre-cirkus bearing.
On-board Hercules power supply.
J7 modified RB 2250 (damped with J7 counterweight)
Dynavector DV20XL

LP12 #2
Black Ash braced plinth.
Cirkus.
Norton AirPower power supply.
[has currently got an Aro/XX2MkII/Prefix]

Neither has a base; I normally use little bump-on feet.

Just looking for some opinions/ideas for a decent spec LP12 to keep, most likely to use in the upstairs/office system (NAC42/Zap120 or NAC22/NAP120 with mk1 Kans on Sound Organisation wall brackets.).

I gather that the corner brace on LP12 #2 would have to be modified if I fitted the Rega arm?
