I've posted this on the Renault forums but it is kinda slow over there so thought somebody here might be insightful! Car is Laguna II 1.9dci 2002.
I have a squeak that sounds when I lift the clutch on an upwards gear change or when I suddenly press or pulse the accelerator putting forward power through the car.
I also have a subtle vibration when I pull away which may or not be related. This was worse before changing the lower engine mount and is now pretty subtle - but still there.
I've recorded a video to show what I'm hearing, so please take a look!
Things that seem good: I do not get any vibrations on the motorway from the steering wheel so I don't think it is steering arms or lower ball joints. Springs and shocks are new. Drop links are 1 year old and joints look good on them. Engine mounts are all new except the transmission mount (visually okay under load).
Possible bad bits: I'm thinking anti-roll bar bushes. I've seen people mentions squeaks with regards to these and I have never changed them. There is a slightly deteriorated rubber bush on one wishbone near the front, but it seems minor. (See photo)
I stuck a camera under the wheel arch to look at the wishbone and anti-roll bar when pulling away. I do not see any movement on the wishbone and I see a lot from the anti-roll bar. Though I appreciate it isn't very clear footage this is on the end of my video.
So..... If it is the anti-roll bar could this cause the squeak and also cause vibration on pull-away or are the two issues likely unrelated?
If it was the wishbone I would probably get vibrations through the steering wheel when on the motorway, right? I also don't think it would squeak, more likely a knock?
