Recommend an arm/cartridge for 301

I recently received an NOS cream Schedule 2 301 and am seeking advice regarding a complementary arm/cartridge. My initial thought was to move ahead with an Ortofon 309d and Silver Meister, but a friend recommended that I strongly consider a SME 3012R. Of course, it's possible to have the plinth built to accommodate two arms, but only have funds for one at the moment.
