Quad S Series Speakers Available For Demo
Quad set out to design a speaker range that would offer you ‘The Closest Approach To The Original Sound’. They believe they have done this with the S Series.
The speaker line up features 2 standmount, 2 floorstanders and a centre speaker, all of these models feature a new bespoke ribbon tweeter designed specifically for the S series.
The ribbon tweeter itself is a sandwich construction, making it robust enough to handle high-powered amplifiers, and is fully immersed in a powerful magnetic field so that it accomplishes its dual role of being both the voice coil and sound radiator.
The Quad S Series speakers standmount models use, rear-firing reflex ports to increase the bass, while the floorstanders incorporate three ABRs (Auxiliary Bass Radiators) in place of a port. These passive, rear-firing bass units support the main drivers to extend bass response down to 35Hz.
All of the S Series speaker cabinets are designed using multiple layers of MDF and high density particleboard. This enables the cabinets to reduce resonance to an almost inaudible level. Available in a range of finishes these Quad speakers are a fantastically presented range.
