There are two separate issues - first is regarding western brands of provenance and good repute being bought out by Chinese owned companies and the second is just how many western hi-fi companies are now having their products manufactured in China.
Do we mind this? If we do why do we? Labour costs are undoubtedly cheaper in China but the Chinese welcome the work and do (relatively) well out of it. Are standards lower? Is build quality compromised?
I mentioned a brief list of some products manufactured in China, copied below... what do the audio buying public in the west think about this?
Kef
IAG brands
Sonus Faber
Classe
B&W
Krell
MusicalFidelity
Monitor Audio
Well Tempered
Cambridge Audio
Mordaunt Short
Naim! (Muso)
Creek
Hegel
And probably many more.
Owned or Manufactured by the Chinese - do we care?
