It now reads discs OK, but is intermittenly slow changing tracks - up to 18 seconds... Any ideas? Laser is not going mad during the process, but I do hear what I think is increased focus noise as laser tries to find focus.
Anyhow, it works Actually sounds pretty good too on initial impressions - it uses a DAC I'm not familiar with, AKM4324 - DAC/Audio board is tiny, but has 2 dedicated AC lines and multiple surface mount rectifiers on it. But as per Micromega, seems a good implementation.
It's going into my office system and the Adcom (Sony electronics/laser with TDA1541A and class A (I think) output stage) *has* to go on eBay - I am now officially a hoarder
Has anyone heard a Primare D20? Mine is the original Philips based unit, a MKII quickly followed with Sony laser & same DAC - and main servo/decoder board design is very reminiscent of my Micromega Stage 5, same transformers, same principal of separate AC windings to DAC audio board (but Stage 5 is dual TDA1305 DACs).
