Mix of wireless and ethernet networking - what am I missing?

lundi 7 mars 2016

I use 2 Squeezebox Touches - one in the study, hard-wired through ethernet to the BT Homehub, which sits on the same desk, the other one floor down and on the opposite side of the house, connecting wirelessly.

The wireless one is fine when replaying 16/44, but throw it a high-res file, and it often stutters and rebuffers.

I had a TP-LINK WA-701ND wireless access point lying around, so decided to try and get it working in 'Client' mode, such that it picks up signal from the BT Hub, and relays it over ethernet to the SBT. Manual here

Configured the 701 with a laptop and ethernet, then moved the ethernet cable from laptop to SBT.

Page 27 deals with setting it up as a client, and having followed this, the first try reported lack of a DHCP server, so followed section 4.6 to set this

The SBT states it has successfully connected to the 'network' when I specify Ethernet as opposed to wireless, but I can't get it to find the Music Folder specified in LMS.

What could I be missing?
