From Naim to tube amps

Me too.

I went from HiCap/202/200 to an Almarro 318b 18 watt single-ended triode. A quarter the power and around half the price. And it was miles better. Night and day better. Bizarrely, it even sounded more powerful.

To be fair, I was using high efficiency horns, so Naim was probably a lousy match to begin with.

(And since then I have gone back to less efficient speakers and highish power transistors.)
