Potholes

Just mentioned on BBC North West: The region's spectacular collection of potholes will take fourteen years and cost £1.5bn to fix.

Our fine collection of potholes are the perfect visual metaphor for the Conservative's lack of infrastructure spending and as with all short-term politics the longer it is left the more it will cost the tax payer. I also hate to think what the council pays out in compensation - there are about four really deep ones between my home and Manchester city centre that if I rode through I'd very likely trash my wheel-set if not cause myself serious injury (i.e. an easy claim for a £500 pair of wheels), and I'm sure they'd similarly trash the wheels/suspension on many high-performance cars.

PS I heard a while ago someone in the Bolton or Bury area has taken to spraying 'cock 'n' balls' graffiti around potholes as it appears to get them fixed quicker!
