2) even if it sounds “better” it is merely different; and
3) in any case, it no longer sounds like a Rega.
I can understand the commercial logic behind this:
a) leave Rega turntables alone because Rega knows best (and possibly better than anyone else given that Roy Gandy is a turntable designer unlike almost all other manufacturers); and
b) save money and upgrade to the next Rega model up instead if you want real improvements.
What I don’t quite get is why there is so much hostility towards Rega modifications, especially on PFM, when numerous third party mods for other turntables – the LP12 and SL1200 stand out – are happily endorsed if not positively encouraged?
People who modify Rega turntables are idiots because…
