Opera Blue Ray?

I largely gave up on buying DVD Videos some years ago when the producers stopped providing the European source ones in 'PAL' (sic) format and simply offerred ones transcoded into 'NTSC' (sic again) - which meant lousy picture resolution. Lacking decent video it was simpler to just stay with audio recordings and close my eyes to get the best pictures. :-)

This was fine for most music, but a shame for opera. Fortunately, I tend mainly to prefer orchestral, etc, anyway.

However I've finally got around to buying a Blue Ray player, and my first test disc was a BD of 'Lakme' by Delibes (Australian Opera) which I really like. So...

I'd like to buy a BD of a couple of other operas. Turandot and Madame Butterfly spring to mind. The question is, which versions on BD may be the best in terms of video of the production as well as music and sound recording?
