DR is just a marketing name, the regulators for the big Naim power amps always were discrete.

The "DR" upgrade for power amps is all about using Naim's new higher spec flat pack transistor rather than its TO3 style predecessor.

The entire PCB for the amp is junked and replaced and the heatsinks are re-drilled.

Naim could perfectly well produce new PCB's for older series amps, but they won't.
