Coloured Vinyl

It does often seem noisy, which I've never understood as black vinyl is coloured black, IIRC the natural colour is a translucent grey white (I think properly clear 'vinyl' may actually be a different material, but I can't remember for sure). I rather like it, I've got a fair few nice examples.

PS It's nothing new, there was a jazz label, maybe Fantasy, I can't remember, pressing on translucent red vinyl back in the late '50s!
