Decided to reorganise my albums today - and arrange them by genre (classical, jazz, rock & folk, and world for simplicity). I was quite surprised to discover that of about 840 albums (25% vinyl and 75% CDs) 50% are classical, 25% rock and folk, and jazz is now 20%, though I've only really discovered jazz in the last few years. There are only 19 world music albums so I've work to do there - I like what I have by Buena Vista Social Club, Toumani Diabate and Ali Farka Toure, so what else do you suggest?
I also uncovered my collection of five LPs by jazz pianist Claude Bolling in collaboration with likes of Yo Yo Ma and Pinchas Zukerman - anyone else enjoy Bolling?
