Really annoying since I've only recently replaced its crumbling foam front!
Question is should I get the same again or is there a drop in upgrade out there?
Another option is to slightly mod to fit a pair of Naim scan d2008/1100's which used to live in one of my pairs of SBL's and are perfectly functional.
I only ever changed them as a precaution since the domes were a bit dimply but they sound fine.
Currently running with one of them held in with one bolt and the remaining d2010 and actually no difference from normal sound.
In days gone by the Audio 42 fellas were recommending the scan 2905 (from specs I'm guessing the 9700 variant) which I'm sure could be made to fit with a bit of elongating of its mounting holes.
Anyone experimented with any success (or failure)?
