Something bad has happened to my Musical Fidelity preamp...
I've had a Musical Fidelity X-P100 for slightly over a year now and it has been working flawlessly, the other day I got some old speakers repaired and plugged them in to briefly test them out and they sounded great so no problems there.
Yesterday I turned on the pre & X-A50 power amps and walked out of the room for a few minutes. When I came back I could smell burning electronics and the pre-amp is buggered. I don't know what caused this as nothing has changed except for a speaker swap + everything was working fine 12 or so hours before with the swapped speakers. I assumed something had gone wrong in the speakers but I tested them out with a different amp and there is nothing wrong with them. The power amps are also fine. I checked all the cables before I plugged in the speakers and everything was connected properly with no wires touching etc. I always lower the volume to the lowest it can go before turning off the amp after use so I'm really annoyed/confused.
Any help would be appreciated.
