I'm in the middle of recapping a late 70s era Akai AA-1020, which I've found to be a surprisingly capable performer. I've upped the original single PSU reservoir cap from 6800uf, to 11,500uF (one 6800uF and one 4700uF), and will install new rectifier diodes just to be on the safe side for that increase.
Was wondering if anything would be gained by increasing the values of C2 & C8 from 100uF to 220uF, and the pair of 330uF caps - C5 and C6 - to 470uF on the psu board:
And on the main amplifier board, anything to be gained by increasing any of the electrolytic values shown here:
