Bloody students. Is this part of the "shout at only" debate t'internet has produced? I have had an open mind on several subject and speaking to people involved has helped me make my mind up. Sometimes to change it again, I am happy to mull things over. I enjoy hearing the opposite view but I don't like the non-acceptance of simple facts or even a chance to change someones mind.
I have been in trouble shooting meetings and started with "is there anything I could say that would change your mind?", "No."...............why waste everyones time.
Back to the link. People in a safe environment such as a college debate need to have their views challenged. Or to challenge others views. I understand that a lot of subjects aren't binary but plenty are and that will lead to clashes. This shouldn't stop debate. Perhaps rules like 3 chances to actually answer a question then you miss a question or vote. Please can someone apply this to MPs and rent a gob bigots!! But banning Peter Tatchell for being Transphobic???? Have they any idea of what he stands for? Meh, meh and more meh.
