All of the circuits are single rail, so there is a single rectifier and a 3000uF cap for smoothing, providing power for both power amplifier channels, this also feeds into a Zener-based regulator which provides 45V for the tuner, phono board and pre-amp board.
I think I can improve this by giving the 45V circuits their own rectifiers and smoothing caps, but also updating the regulator. However the voltages are too high for my usual LM317 tracking reg, and I am struggling to find something that will work well at these voltages.
If there isn't a better regulator I can use I will probably just use this arrangement to improve the 45V regulator performance:
rectifier -> CRCRC -> cap multiplier -> existing zener reg
Are there any good regulators that work well with say 70V input and 45V output?
